European historians visited Bykivnia

On September 9, 2019, a group of historians from Germany, the USA, the Netherlands and Ukraine visited the National Historical and Memorial Reserve Graves of Bykivnia. The group was accompanied by a Ukrainian historian, doctor of historical sciences, head of the department of modern history and politics of the Institute of History of Ukraine of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine Georgy Kasyanov.

XIX International Katyn Race in Bykivnia

On August 16, 2019, on the territory of the National Historical and Memorial Reserve Graves of Bykivnya the participants of the XIX International Katyn Rally honored the memory of the Poles and other victims of the communist regime buried in the Forest of Bykivnya. This year the event was attended by representatives of the public organization Rajd Katyński (Katyn Motorbike Race), representing different cities of Poland, as well as Polish cultural and educational societies in Kiev and Ukraine.

On the secret special stage of the NKVD of the Ukrainian SSR in the Bykivnya Forest, tens of thousands of victims of the "Great Terror" found their last shelter. According to historians, the total number of those shot and buried in Bykivnya can amount from 20 to 100 thousand people. Among them there are priests and scientists, peasants and workers, artists and writers, actors and engineers, composers and civil servants. However, it is very important to see behind huge figures individual fates, personal stories and specific names. Graves of Bykivnya are fraternal, but not nameless. COME AND COMMEMORATE EVERYONE!

Exhibition "Crossing Kyiv Styx" in Kyiv Cyti State Administration

The exhibition is a joint project of the Bykivnia Graves National Historical and Memorial Preserve and the Konstantin Ypsilanti Kyiv City Society of Greeks. The exhibition tells about the fate of the Kyiv Greeks, who were shot as a result of the “Greek operation” - mass repressions against representatives of the Greek community in all republics of the USSR. The event was attended by employees of the reserve and employees of the KCSA, representatives of Greek cultural societies, journalists, and the public.
